Early Morning Snowfall at Mill Creek
I carry my phone when I run in the morning, but I don’t often judge an image to be worthy of interrupting my run. This was different. The wet snow had highlighted the trunks and coated branches, transforming them to skeletal arms with fingers dangling above the icy water. The grey sky threatened more snow to come. It was a thoroughly cold scene that seemed to epitomize winter. Will spring ever come again? I knew as soon as I took the photograph that I would paint it one day.
