Beech Forest in the Pyrenees
A thick layer of beech leaves covered the trail and crunched beneath our boots as we descended the final kilometers of this fall hike. There was not going to be a dramatic sunset, but the fading light of the setting sun diffused through the cloud layer creating an eerie but beautiful purple glow. It didn’t last long but I was lucky to capture an image at just the right moment.
